Sister and Brother
Mingun, Myanmar

Caption::A former capitol of Burma (now called Myanmar), Mingun is a small village among the ruins of some early 19th century stupas and pagodas on the banks of the Irrawaddy River. This young girl carried her young brother – warmly dressed despite the sticky tropical heat. The yellow paste on their faces is sandalwood paste – used as a traditional make-up, sunscreen and skin cream.
