Sister carrying brother, Muang Kham, Laos
| Description: | East of the enigmatic Plain of Jars and the rough and tumble town of Xieng Khouang, I traveled close to the Vietnamese border to a village called Muang Kham and the nearby hot springs. The Lao people are very gentle and do not flinch when photographed. I asked this girl if I could take her photo of her carrying her little brother. Note the object in her right hand – it’s a stalk of sugar cane, which the children eat as an inexpensive candy. |
