Fallen Leaf Lake, Lake Tahoe, California

Description:A cool crisp day found us along the shores of Fallen Leaf Lake at 6,377’. This glacial lake lies just 148 feet above the level of Lake Tahoe, 1.5 miles away. We had come to see the salmon spawning in the lake’s outlet stream. The bright sunlight shining through the yellow leaves was further enhanced by the dark evergreens in the background on the lower slopes of 9,735’ Mt. Talac.
