Red-footed booby
Genovesa Island
Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Description:Unlike the ground dwelling blue footed booby, the red-footed booby nests and roosts in trees, despite their webbed feet. This bird rests on a large piece of driftwood and, like most Galapagos wildlife, shows a remarkable lack of fear of humans, allowing me to approach within a dozen feet and stand eye-to-eye.
