Chukhung Glacier
Mt. Everest Region
Nepal Himalayas

Description:This view south from near Chukhung, a collection of Sherpa yak herder’s huts at 15,500’, reveals a sweeping panorama of the impressive ice-flutings of the Chukhung Glacier. The un-named peaks of the skyline range from 20,300 feet on the left to 21,000 feet on the right, a peak that lies 2 miles east of the famous Ama Dablam Peak. Chukhung itself lies 7 miles south of Mt. Everest, although the massive south face of Lhotse blocks the view.
